Phenelle Segal, founder of Infection Control Consulting Services (ICCS) and an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) infection control consultant, is featured in an article on ASC infection prevention in the May 2015 issue of Healthcare Purchasing News (HPN).

The column is titled "Education, dedication, planning: Preventing infection in the ASC." Phenelle is one of several industry experts that provide best practices and tips for infection prevention in the ASC setting.

Phenelle offers insight on a number of issues, including the importance of monitoring and documenting temperature, humidity and room pressures; the need for a separate decontamination or "dirty room" and a "clean room"; and limiting the use of immediate-use steam sterilization.
