Phenelle Segal, infection prevention consultant and president of Infection Control Consulting Services (ICCS), is featured in a new article on reprocessing published by NurseCompetency.

The column examines the importance of healthcare facilities that utilize reusable medical devices reviewing their reprocessing procedures following reports of multiple facilities experiencing problems with reprocessed medical devices. Such problems have resulted in healthcare-acquired infections and been linked to the deaths of several patients.

The column includes a link to a special report written by Phenelle about what facilities need to do to help ensure proper reprocessing procedures are followed.
