Joint Commission Seeks Input on Revisions to Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections NPSG

The Joint Commission is seeking input on proposed revisions to the National Patient Safety Goal (NPSG) on catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs).

The proposed revisions to NPSG.07.06.01 are based on evidence-based practices for preventing CAUTI.

These proposed revisions would affect three Joint Commission programs: hospitals, critical access hospitals and nursing care centers.
